✅ STEP 1: SPAN Calibration to 20.9% oxygen in fresh air.
- Power on the analyzer and allow 60 seconds for stabilization in fresh air.
- Verify the pump is operating.
- Check the reading: If it's within ±0.1% of 20.9%, no calibration is needed.
For calibration to precisely 20.9%:
- Select "GasCalib" from the Menu Screen
- Enter passcode: 1111
- Verify the default span value shows 20.9% (left column)
- Current reading appears in right column
- Press middle button "Calib" to confirm 20.9% calibration gas concentration
- Press middle button ">>" to save the span calibration
- Wait for "CONFIG SUCCESS!" confirmation
The analyzer is now calibrated to 20.9% oxygen in fresh air.
✅ STEP 2: ZERO Calibration to 0.0% oxygen using Nitrogen Gas.
- Expose the gas analyzer to 100% Nitrogen Gas for at least 1-2 minutes. The gas analyzer will approach 0.0%.
- Ensure you are using a flow rate of 0.5 LPM and a T-piece as recommended.
- Check the reading. If its within ±0.1% of 0.0%, no calibration is needed.
For zero calibration to precisely 0.0%:
- Select "GasZero" from the Menu Screen.
- Highlight the gas you would like to ZERO (if its the FD-600M-4GAS model select O2)
- Press the "ZERO" button to confirm the zero value.
- When complete, “CONFIG SUCCESS” is displayed.
✅ STEP 3: Verification
- Allow the oxygen analyzer to stabilize in fresh air for 5 minutes, confirming it reads 20.9%.
- Once verified, your unit is properly calibrated and ready for operation.
- Don't forget to document the calibration event in your gas analyzer log book. Place a reminder calibration date sticker on the unit for the next calibration event.
