Headspace Analyzers

A headspace analyzer is an instrument that detects gas content in food packaging (such as coffee bags). Food packaging is often filled with nitrogen, carbon dioxide, or carbon monoxide to reduce oxygen, preventing food from spoiling and extending shelf life. A headspace analyzer also sometimes referred to as a modified atmosphere packaging analyzer (MAP Analyzer), provides food packers with quantitative gas concentrations so that products meet the expected quality control thresholds. Accessories such as a headspace kit is also used to undertake proper measurements.
